New Year Clearing

Hi everybody! Well ....happy new year to you all. I stopped smoking AGAIN..this time it is for keeps..I am sure of that?!?!
At the start of a new year it is a good idea to clear out all the old stuff and throw away some of the useless things you have accumulated  during the winter.

A pack of Tarot cards tend to be numbering seventy-eight, were used belonging to the mid fifteenth century in many parts of Europe, originally to experiment with games for example the Italian Tarocchini and French Tarot. Tarot cards are utilized by occultists and psychics since late 18th century to now for divination and readings of spiritual pathways. Divination using playing cards is recorded as early as 1540 in a book called The Oracles of Francesco Marcolino da Forli, although the cards themselves weren't thought to have meaning. From the 1700s Tarot cards were being employed for divination as they are surely today.
Early versions of Tarot decks were quite different. On some packs there have been sixteen picture cards with images of Greek Gods, soon after astronomical images followed and pictures of assorted Heros and poets appeared. Three sets of cards were made for the Visconti family in the 15th century. The 1st one was called the Cary-Yale Tarot by an unknown painter known to the family; they could still be seen today in the Cary collection in the rare book Library in Yale University. Tarot cards were hand painted and afforded by only the upper classes up until the invention of the printing press in 1843. In the 18th and 19th centuries, Tarot cards started for use by psychic readers and mystics. It is assumed that the word ‘Tarot’ comes from the Egyptian words ‘Tar’ meaning Royal and ‘Ro’ meaning road. This meant the word ‘Tarot’ means ‘Royal Road’ of wisdom. The Gypsies were the initial to make use of Tarot cards for divination and fortune telling as they were descendants of the ancient Egyptian nomads.
The Rider-Waite Tarot could have been the most popular and famous Tarot deck although nowadays there are way more than 150 decks to select from.

In advance the cards are dealt and positioned out, the deck is to be shuffled  thoroughly and the questioner must cut the deck aided by the left hand. So this is Christmas

....and what have we done?
Well I did a lot this year, I learned much about myself mostly. I stopped and started smoking more times than I care to mention, although I did find a good way to lose weight without taking shitloads of drugs :)
So here I am, a bit lonely in London, my 9 year old is 6000 miles away and I wish I was with him, it's Christmas after all!!

I will hopefully see him in a couple of months :) presents in arm!
